HOW CAN I ROLEPLAY HERE?;
•You first option is to join one of the member-run roleplays. You may join as many or as few as you want, just try to stay active on all of them you choose!
•You also have the option of creating your own roleplay, if you don't see anything you're interested in.
•We also have boards for private roleplays, such as 1x1 rps or small group rps. You may not form private groups within one of the roleplays created here, so if you're looking for privacy, keep to the private rp boards.
•Honestly, you're welcome to use TC as a place to store your roleplay characters as well. That's what my original idea was, a site for character storage, but I thought I'd turn it into something a little more fun and inspiring. Still, you're under no obligation to run or join a roleplay here. As long as what you're doing is roleplay related in some way, you're good. (Meaning, don't join just to loiter around the ooc forums.) New: we've created a system that allows each member to have their own sub-board to store their characters! Please PM a TC admin, K!tten or J&d, to get yours or if you have any questions!
Now, for the actual rules.
GENERAL OUT-OF-CHARACTER;
•Play nice! We're meant to be a community, so anyone found disturbing the peace will be warned and eventually banned if the behavior persists.
•Swearing is allowed, but to a point. Please keep swearing outside of rps to a minimum. Swearing within rps is up to the mini-admins, but it still must not get too vulgar. Please keep an eye on your members lest they get your rp in trouble. Please mark any thread, both in character and out, containing swearing with an [M] for mature.
•Please make sure all conversations and roleplays abide by the proboards TOS. Anything on this site that could potentially get us in trouble will be deleted immediately and the poster will be warned. If it persists, your account will be deleted.
•When chatting in the chatbox or around the site, please keep talk of sensitive issue to a bare minimum. Topics such as politics, sexuality, gender, religion, ect- anything that could potentially start a fight is not allowed on the boards. If you must, take it to PM, just keep in mind that the site staff still have the right to punish those starting fights even then.
•No plagiarism. This applies to characters, plots/ideas (to a point), and images. If you're not sure how to find images under creative commons, I'm sure there are members who would be happy to help you. Being unsure about the availability of an image is not an acceptable excuse for stealing.
•Stay legible, make sure people can understand what you're saying. OOC posts are allowed slack on capitalization and some chatspeak (lol, brb, ect), as long as we can understand you. IC posts must have proper grammar- individual rps may not override this.
GENERAL IN-CHARACTER;
These rules may not be overridden within individual roleplays.
These rules may not be overridden within individual roleplays.
•One account per member. Since this is a multi-rp site, all members will only be allowed 1 account. I'm sorry if you prefer to have an account for each character your play, but you may not do it here.
•Any sexual/birthing/graphic content must fade to black. Explicit scenes of any kind are not allowed and can put your account at risk. Mini-admins seen letting this behavior continue will have their roleplays taken down.
•Power playing or god-modding is not allowed, period. Meaning, do not decide the actions of any characters but your own (unless you have explicit permission) and do not make your character invincible. Mini-admins are not allowed to decide the fate of characters other than their own within their roleplays.
•Individual roleplays may have their own word limit when it comes to IC replies, but we would like to request that the limit not drop below 100 words.
•The Coalescence itself does not have a limit on the number of character your may have. However, individual rps may have character limits.
•Liquid time is decided by the mini-admins and can vary from rp to rp.
•Point of view limitations, or lack thereof, are decided by the mini-admins and may vary from rp to rp, however only the usual first/second/third person are allowed. 1st person uses 'I', 2nd person uses 'you', and 3rd person uses 'he/she/they'. Please do not try to make character whose manner of speaking is difficult to understand, and keep to these three.
•The site itself does not have a "name claim" due to the nature of TC, but individual roleplays are allowed to have them.
SITE STAFF VERSUS "MINI-STAFF";
•Site staff are the people that run The Coalescence itself. Regardless of your rp's rules, you must listen to the site staff.
•"Mini-admins" are the individual owners of the roleplays. They do not have any actual powers on the site, but they are the only ones that may PM TC staff to request threads be moved/locked/sticky.
•"Mini-mods", which is an actual title here, are those chosen by the mini-admins to help run their rps. Like mini-admins, mini-mods have no actual powers on TC, but the members of individual rps must listen to them. If they have permission from their mini-admin, mini-mods may be allowed to request threads be moved/locked/sticky.
•If any member of this site feels their mini-staff are being unfair, they have the right to message a site staff member about it. The roleplays on this site must be run fairly, otherwise we have the power to take down your roleplay and prevent anyone involved from running another on our site.
•As for activity, if a mini-admin doesn't log on for an extended period of time without posting in the 'going away" board, they could lose their roleplay. Depending on the current mini-mods, roleplayer activity level, and general popularity, the roleplay could: 1) be passed to a trustworthy mini-mod, 2) be taken over by TC Admins to keep it open, or 3) closed down.
•If a mini-admin would like to give up their roleplay or any reason, they are allowed to decide the fate of their rp. They have the options of choosing a mini-mod to pass it to, letting the TC staff have it, or simply shutting it down.
